Richard has a degree in Professional Photography from the University of Gloucestershire, and recently graduated from the BA Fashion Styling & Photography course at the internationally-renowned London College of Fashion.

Building on the enthusiasm for photography that he discovered at an early age, Richard has combined a strong educational grounding with extensive professional experience, and enjoys working on a wide range of projects with both individuals and businesses.

Whilst he is best known for his fashion and beauty work, and loves experimenting with new creative ideas, Richard is also passionate about creating great portraits and wedding photography, where his approach often draws on a personal interest in photojournalism.

Richard’s Portraits are usually shot at home or on-location rather than in the studio; this helps subjects – especially children – relax, and allows him to mix authenticity with originality, creating images that truly capture what people are about, but often in striking and unpredictable ways.

When photographing weddings, Richard’s style is very much documentary-driven. He prefers to take a step back and tell the story of the day without following any tired formulas. You won’t find any posed or clichéd shots in a Richard Maidment wedding album; all the important moments are captured, but in a candid fashion that recreates the romance and emotion of being there.

In addition to producing a diverse portfolio of images for numerous private and commercial clients, Richard has been published in a number of magazines and has exhibited throughout the UK.
