Overall Info
In the historic town of Battle, Nobles Restaurant stands out within the high street as modern, contemporary and fresh.
Paul Noble, a chef for over 30 years has worked at various fine dining restaurants, clubs & hotels, including: The Goring (London’s only privately owned 5* hotel), The 5* Landmark Hotel in London (famous for its Middle Eastern cuisine) and the highly acclaimed Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath amongst others!
Paul & Debbie Noble have created a restaurant that offers diners of today exactly what they are looking for: fresh, seasonal, local and unpretentious food that is, above all, very good value for money. Noble’s food is homemade on the premises and the menu changes regularly to suit their local trade. They genuinely care about their produce and its origin and try to support as many local suppliers, farmers & fishmongers as possible. Nobles also prides itself on looking after their vegetarian/vegan customers and those with allergies as they always ensure there are choices on the menu.
The decor is fresh, clean, the atmosphere elegant, relaxed and inviting and the food, well, exquisite.
In 2014 they received 57th best UK restaurant out of 100 in the annual Square Meal out-of-London Awards as well as being awarded two knives and forks in 2014 Michelin Guide. Previous years have seen them win ‘The Best Eatery’ in the 1066 Business Awards 2012 and ‘The Best Restaurant’ in the Arrow FM Awards 2011.
On the a la carte menu, expect to start with the likes of home smoked duck breast & foie gras or a blue swimmer crab risotto with tomato oil, rocket & Parmesan. Main course options could be one of their famous fish mixed grills (all Nobles fish & meat is sourced as locally as possible) with chilli noodles, tomato & fresh garden herbs or Romney Marsh saddle of lamb with wild mushrooms, beans and a fondant potato with a rich sauce. Nobles also specialises in fabulous ‘Sussex’ steaks, so you can enjoy sirloin, fillet or even chateaubriand! During lunchtimes you can also order off their lunchtime snack menu, which includes local battered fish & chips, homemade burger, paninis, salads & home cooked ham, egg & chips.
For desserts you could have a full or mini size, perfect for a sweet taster at the end of a meal. Desserts could range from a seasonal crumble, berry pannacotta, white chocolate & Grand Marnier parfait, of course all homemade. They also have a 5 local cheese selection available too!
They have also grown their popular business by creating Nobles Catering, where Nobles come to you! They can cater for every function/event large or small with the ethos still being fresh, seasonal & local.
It is advisable to book as Nobles is very popular with both locals and tourists alike!
