Heartstart Swallowfield is affiliated to the British Heart Foundation to provide Emergency Life Skills to people for all walks of life.
Training is free, although donations to cover our running costs are welcomed, and can be attended by anyone over the age of ten. Training sessions take place once a month and it is essential to book a place as we can only cater for 12 attendees. The venue for the courses will vary between the Victory Hall in Farley Hill and Wokingham. We can, upon request, also conduct a training session for a particular group of people or company. Please just contact us with your requirements.
The course normally lasts for 2.5 hours and anyone above the age of 10 can attend. (contact us if you are a school or club who wish to have training).
Topics covered include:
•Priorities/the conscious casualty
•The unconscious casualty
•Cardiac arrest
•Suspected heart attack
•Choking
•Serious Bleeding
•The Automated External Defibrillator (see note below)
The course is delivered as a mixture of practical, theory and video so no previous experience / knowledge is required. At the end of the training, providing you complete the course, you will be presented with a certificate.
